Non-Surgical Facial Enhancements

NON-SURGICAL JOWL LIFT:

Sagging jowls are traditionally treated with a surgical jowl lift. This is an expensive, invasive procedure, which involves significant pain, swelling, and a long recovery period. The results typically last up to ten years. Dr. Stanley has created a non-invasive, non-surgical alternative which is safe, pain-free, and requires no recovery time.

Dr. Stanley's technique involves injection of a filler called Radiesse^TM into the space just in front of the jowl. The original, youthful contour of the jaw is restored and the jowly area becomes much less noticeable. Unlike a surgical facelift, this method does not require general anesthesia and relies instead on powerful numbing topical creams, allowing you to see the results at intervals during the procedure and give feedback. You control the results. The procedure is virtually painless and usually takes half an hour. Most people can go back to work immediately.

NON-SURGICAL CHEEK IMPLANTS:

Cheek implants provide volume to the cheekbone area in order to improve the overall balance of the face. Traditionally, surgeons insert a silicone solid implant through an incision made inside the mouth, into the cheek. This procedure is invasive and carries several days of downtime and discomfort. Also, cheek implants are appropriate only for the arch of the cheekbone. They cannot effectively augment the front of the cheek under the eye.

Alternatively, fat can be harvested from another part of the body and placed it in the cheek as an injected fat graft. The problem with fat injections is that they are still an unreliable enhancement method. The duration of the fat graft depends on the patient, on the skill of the doctor and on the area injected. While one cheek may last 2 or 3 years, the other may get absorbed and disappear in 8 months.

Dr. Stanley's cheek enhancements are non-surgical, non-invasive, and safe. Rather than using an implant or fat from some other part of your body, Dr. Stanley uses injectable fillers - either Restylane^TM, Perlane^TM or Radiesse^TM.

Radiesse^TM is a calcium based FDA approved, long lasting injectable filler. The Radiesse becomes part of your skin as your own cells grow around the injection “scaffolding” and does not move from the area injected. Radiesse is also known to cause your body to increase production its own collagen in the areas of injection, increasing the duration of effect.

Non-surgical cheek implants are much safer and less costly ($1,000 to $2,000) than traditional cheek implants. There is no significant recovery time with non-surgical cheek enhancement; most patients can return to work immediately. There is a small risk of bruising in the area which usually resolves in 2-3 days.

NON-SURGICAL CHIN AUGMENTATION:

Dr. Stanley's non-surgical chin augmentation technique will correct a weak chin or receding chin and balance your profile without the pain, risk, and recovery time of surgical chin implants.

Traditional chin augmentation involves the surgical implantation of a shaped silicone, solid chin implant under general anesthesia. The surgery involves up to two weeks of swelling and pain. The results can be good, but can also be limited by the shape of the prefabricated implant. Dr. Stanley uses Radiesse injectable filler, rather than performing surgery for chin augmentation. A topical numbing cream is applied to prevent pain during the procedure. Small amounts of Radiesse are then injected into precise areas building up the chin and bringing your profile into balance. Results of non-surgical procedure are more precise because Dr. Stanley expands only the areas that are absolutely necessary for the optimal cosmetic result.

The procedure is normally performed in two 15-minute sessions, which take place about three weeks apart. You may experience two to three days of minor swelling and tenderness. The results will last about one to two years. This allows for adjustment in the future as your face changes, so that you will always retain a natural look.

NON-SURGICAL EYE LIFT:

In the past, surgery was the only effective treatment for “bags,” hollows and dark circles under the eyes. Dr. Stanley has created a non-invasive, safe, and cost effective alternative to surgery for these problems, Non Surgical Blepharoplasty.

Dr. Stanley's unique method for eliminating dark circles and bags under the eyes is non-invasive and safe. She injects Juvederm or Restylane to even out the plane beneath the eye, removing the depression between the cheek and the eyelid. Small injections of the filler are placed in precise locations filling in depressed areas, correcting the contours under your eyes. This removes the shadow, which creates the dark circles, and eliminates the look of protruding lower lids.

After the injections, there is sometimes some minor bruising which will go away within a few days. Results using Juvederm or Restylane are very smooth and last about eight months. This temporary method allows you to make adjustments as your face changes over time so that you will always have a natural look.

Dr. Stanley's technique involves a combination of BOTOX® Cosmetic injections and injectable fillers, to reduce lines and folds, and restore youthful contours. Unlike a surgical facelift, eyelift, or brow lift, this method does not require general anesthesia and relies instead on powerful numbing topical applications, allowing you to see the results at intervals during the procedure and give feedback. You control the outcome.

The BOTOX® Cosmetic injections smooth out lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contractions, and the injectable fillers fill in any depressions and folds. Typically, Dr. Stanley uses Restylane to fill in under the eyes (to eliminate dark circles) and better define the lips (this decreases the vertical “smoker's lines” of the upper and lower lip). She uses Radiesse to fill in the nasolabial folds (smile lines), and marionette lines at the sides of the mouth. She can also subtly enhance the cheekbones, giving a noticeable lift to the skin of the face. Radiesse can also be used to fill in the space between the “jowl” and the chin, re-establishing a smooth jawline and camouflaging the jowl.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to relax the muscles of the forehead, between the brows and the sides of the eyes. BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be used to decrease the vertical lip lines, to raise the corners of the mouth so these are not turned down, and to smooth out a dimpled or “orange peel” chin.

The procedure is virtually painless and usually takes about an hour. Recovery time is normally a few days. The result of the BOTOX® injections lasts about three months and the injectable fillers last six months to two years depending on which type of filler is used.

NON-SURGICAL BROWLIFT:

Traditional brow lift surgery involves an incision along the hairline from ear to ear, lifting the skin, and adjusting the muscles in the brow. For patients with mild heaviness to their brow, Dr. Stanley recommends trying BOTOX® Cosmetic injections prior to going under the knife. BOTOX® Cosmetic smoothes out wrinkles by weakening and relaxing the muscles that cause skin to wrinkle. More than just smoothing out worry and frown lines, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections can create a lifting effect by relaxing the muscles that pull down on the eyebrows. This not only raises the ends of the eyebrows into a more pleasing arch (correcting a downward slanting “sad eyes” appearance), but also opens the eyes, reducing the “hooded” appearance so common in middle aged eyes. This procedure is appropriate for mild brow drooping only. If you are a better candidate for surgical brow lift, Dr. Stanley will discuss referring you for this during your consultation.
